A Beautiful Mid-Winter Day

I never tire of the view from the front steps of Stowe High School. This morning was crystal clear with the light playing off the mountain in that special way it only can in mid-winter. Now, I don't think I'll ever make a run at being named Vermont's poet-laureate; but, the view did have me feeling poetic this morning. Good stuff indeed---just like our Alpine Team's win yesterday in seizing the Cougar Cup Challenge Trophy. Well done team!!

Shake the mid-winter doldrums and come out and support one of our winter teams. I'm planning to watch our Girl's Basketball Team at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Janaury 24. Hope to see you there.

***The Stowe High School Parent-Student-Teacher Team asks you to join them for an evening of direct conversation on substance issues moderated by Dr. Rick Barnett on Wednesday, January 28 @ 7:00 p.m. in the Meeting Room of the Stowe Library. Please see the flyer on the link below:

A Belated Happy New Year!

Hi Folks,

Happy New to all! My apologies for not posting last week. This old back of mine was acting up and I needed to take some steps to push through it.

We have moved rapidly into the second semester here at Stowe High School. Most students and teachers liked the adjustment of mid-terms to before the holiday break. I think we all found the fresh start to the New year refreshing without mid-terms hanging over our collective heads.

I would like highlight a couple of events coming up this month I think very important:

  • On Monday, January 19 the Stowe School Board will be finalizing the 2015-16 budget to be presented at Town Meeting in March. I urge you to attend the meeting at 6:00 p.m. at Stowe Elementary School so that you are informed in advance of the vote.
