May Days---

... are sunny at last as well as the fastest-paced month of the school year. Hang on for the ride because something is always happening over the next few weeks. Please remember that our Daily Annoucements are posted on the website:

Stowe Education Fund and Stowe Middle/High School Boosters Team Up to Host First Annual Talent Show

On behalf of Stowe Middle & High School I want to take a moment to thank Vicki Alekson and Amy Rolfe and the members of their respective organizations for all the time and hard work that went into making the Talent Show a success last Friday night. A fun time was had by all. All the student and adult acts were terrific---though the finale by those principal types was a bit lame by comparison.

All profits from the event went to support the renovation of the Auditorium. Thank you!

Important News From the Stowe School Board

Stowe School Board Brief | May 6, 2015
Education Reform Bill (H.361) and visit from Rep. Heidi Scheuerman
The board continues to closely monitor and work to influence H. 361, an education reform bill passed by the House that aims to consolidate Vermont’s school governance structure. In addition to sending a letter and resolutions stating our position, board chair Cam Page recently testified encouraging legislators to assess school districts based on the quality of education they deliver, not the number of students they serve. The Senate version of the bill is currently in the Appropriations Committee and expected to move to the Senate floor. Representative Scheuerman attended our meeting this week to answer questions about H.361and to present her alternative education reform plan. With the legislature slated to adjourn May 15, we should have plenty to talk about at our next meeting on May 18. As always, the meeting is open to the public and will be at 6:00 p.m. in the SES Music Room.

Have a great Raider Day!
